On 20 June, we celebrated the completion of West Mall’s asset enhancement initiative and the official opening of new dining wing Eat@W with a ceremony at the mall’s new sheltered event plaza. The event was graced by Guest of Honour Mr Murali Pillai, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Law and Ministry of Transport, Adviser to Jurong East-Bukit Batok GRC Grassroots Organisations.

Started in the first half of 2023 and completed in early 2025, the asset enhancement works saw the creation of a new basement dining wing, Eat@W, and the conversion of the mall’s open-air space to a large, sheltered event plaza. The completion has expanded the dining, retail and community offerings at the mall, further strengthening its position as a vibrant community hub in the heart of Bukit Batok.

“West Mall has been serving the Bukit Batok community for over two decades. With the neighbouring estate of Tengah taking shape, it was an opportune time to enhance the mall to better serve the enlarged catchment of residents.”

OVER 20 F&B AND RETAIL OFFERINGS ADDED
Offering diverse choices for residents and shoppers, the new dining wing Eat@W features a curated mix of local favourites and international flavours, including first-in-Singapore dining concepts. These include Lao Ma Ban Mian, a Taiwanese noodle house known for its authentic dishes and GOCHIYA which offers individualised teppanyaki experiences.

MORE COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT OPPORTUNITIES
As part of these enhancement works, the mall’s open-air space was upgraded to a privately-owned public space featuring a sheltered open plaza with amphitheatre-style seating areas. This upgrade allows the mall to play host to a wider variety of engagement activities, solidifying its position as the venue for community and national celebrations. At the same time, this upgrade has also created a direct sheltered connection to Bukit Batok MRT station, offering more convenient access to the mall.

MORE READING, LEARNING & DISCOVERY EXPERIENCES
Come first half of 2026, the Bukit Batok Public Library will reopen at West Mall. The upgraded library is set to offer new experiences for reading, learning and discovery, further reinforcing West Mall’s position as a dynamic and engaging lifestyle destination.

A REVITALISED COMMUNITY HUB
With these changes, the mall is well-positioned to meet the growing multi-generational community that it serves. The mall’s corporate identity was also refreshed with bold, vibrant colours to better relate to the younger demographic.

From families, the younger generation of shoppers to the older demographic, there is something for everyone at the revitalised West Mall. Whether you are stopping by for a meal, attending a community event, or visiting the library when it reopens next year, West Mall welcomes you to rediscover, reconnect, and be part of this vibrant community.
