Close to 1,400 toys raised in support of Food from the Heart’s Toy Buffet

Updates | 28 November 2025

Every child deserves to feel special. For children from low-income families, having access to toys they wish for may not always be possible. To address this, an annual Toy Buffet organised by local charity Food from the Heart treats about 2,000 underprivileged children, including those under the MOE Financial Assistance Scheme to a one-day carnival where they get to choose toys to bring home, enjoy games, snacks and performances. We have been a supporter of this initiative since 2024, partnering with tenants to collect both new and pre-loved toys for the event.

Building on the momentum from last year’s toy donation drive held at Singapore Land Tower, we expanded this year’s drive to include The Gateway. To support the six-day donation drive, almost 25 SingLand volunteers were deployed to assist with the gift-wrapping of toys collected from tenants. Two large gift boxes were installed at the building’s lobby to showcase these toys, many of which were thoughtfully wrapped, decorated, and accompanied with handwritten notes. The effort resulted in the collection of nearly 1,400 toys, accounting for close to 10% of the 15,000 toys raised at this year’s Toy Buffet.

This year also saw the adoption of a booth at the Toy Buffet held on 14 November, with about 20 SingLand volunteers supporting the event, from manning the booth to guiding small groups of children through the activities and ensuring a meaningful and enjoyable experience.

As 2025 draws to a close, we are pleased to have clocked about 500 volunteer hours this year. Looking ahead, we seek to deepen our partnerships with tenants and community partners and drive meaningful change in underserved communities.
